When anesthesia meets dog dreams

Ever wondered if our anesthetized friends are dreaming? I once had a golden retriever who kept twitching and barking softly during surgery… I like to think he was chasing squirrels in his sleep while I monitored his vitals — such a joy to imagine.

It’s so fun to think about what they’re dreaming! I had a poodle who would wag his tail like crazy — definitely going after those imaginary squirrels. It makes you wonder if they remember those moments when they wake up?

I love the idea of dogs chasing squirrels in their dreams! My pug used to snore during anesthesia — I like to think he was winning a race. Do you think their dreams are as vivid as ours?
