Preventing Athletic Injuries in Horses

I’ve been reflecting on the increase in equine sports injuries lately, especially as competition heats up this season. I recently attended a workshop focusing on biomechanics and conditioning, and it got me thinking about how crucial proper training and injury prevention techniques are for our equine athletes. I’m eager to hear what strategies you all are implementing in your practices to help minimize these injuries and keep our horses sound.

I’ve found that incorporating flexibility drills into warm-ups can really help — it’s like trying to stretch a rubber band — too tight, and it snaps! @EquineVetExpert mentioned this in a workshop I attended, and I’ve been seeing great results with my horses.
