I’ve been working with several clients recently who are facing tough decisions regarding their pets’ cancer treatment options. It’s heartbreaking, and I’ve found that discussing palliative care has really made a difference for both the pets and their owners. Does anyone have resources or strategies they’re using to help families in these situations?
In my experience, sharing clear, compassionate information with clients about palliative care options can really help. Have you checked out the resources from the AVMA? They’re super helpful!

It’s great you’re focusing on palliative care — sometimes, it helps to think of it as being a good host to a dinner party. You want to make the time as enjoyable as possible for your guests (or pets) even if the end is approaching — have you looked into any local support groups for owners?
Have you tried using Comfort Care kits? They can really ease the process for both pets and owners.
What do you think has worked best so far?
